It is All About the Finishing!

Take one darling, darling, darling canvas by a great canvas designer Kirk & Hamilton, a cleverly written stitch guide written by Ruth Dilts and Joan Lohr using great threads along with perfectly selected stitches and fabulous finishing by Funda…and what do you get?

You get this! Can I please tell you how much I love, love…love this? Did I say love? This was a class that I took at the TNNA market in June and actually finished it. A first time maybe ever that I finished my class piece from market.

Thank you too for Funda for finishing this in time so that I can enjoy it for this holiday season. It has nestled into my decorating on the coffeee table which is front and center before me so that I can enjoy it while I stitch. Thank you Funda, you are the best!

My holiday countdown is in full force. I leave for points east all too soon. The million dollar question is…

Now I ask for just enough to make it really feel like Christmas and not when I am flying to NY or coming back here to the cats. Is that too much to hope for? My gifts are wrapped, packages mailed, cards addressed and sent out and this last week will be for stitching and stitching and more stitching. Ooh I need to wrap and mail a couple more packages yet that head out to California destinations and a few more cards.

Did I tell you that my last few nights of stitching was taken up with some reverse stitching and then and then 3 hours and 37 minutes of restitching what I had taken out! I even braved the heavy rain storms to go and buy some more thread too.

My Santa suitcase is out as I add my unwraped gifts to this. AlleyCat is thinking that this is a great spot to curl up and take a power nap. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. From the look on Alley Cat’s face I think she knows what is coming. Her Mom is leaving AGAIN! Have a wonderful holiday at home and a safe trip there and back! I will miss your blog posts.

  2. Oh, Vicky! I don’t think that’s what Alley Cat is thinking at all! I think she’s giving you the over-my-dead-body stare!

Your “snowglobe” looks wonderful. Kirk and Hamilton do some of the sweetest pieces around.

    Enjoy your holidays!

  3. I love AlleyCat…she and my Pearl could be twins! How much does AlleyCat weigh? Pearl is 17.5#….a big-boned gal…lol. I’m fairly new to needlepoint and really enjoy your blog!

    • ooh you never ask a woman how much she weighs! She was a realy alley cat when rescued and that explains her eating habits now. There is more of her to love, right? I am thrilled that you have started needlepointing and that you enjoy my blog!

  4. I love your stitching, you do such wonderful work. But more than that, I love the pictures of Alley Cat because she reminds me of our Ebernizer (Ebony) scrooge. She was stingy with her affection, but a good cat.

    Sandy
