Mostly Needlepoint got it’s name when friends asked “what would you blog about?” I answered mostly needlepoint, with a dash of my cats, a little baseball and a sprinkling of other topics. Well today it is really all about the black cat in my life, AlleyCat. It is National Black Cat Appreciation Day…well acoording to Facebook that is.
AlleyCat got her name as she really was an alley cat! Found in the alley behind a sushi restuarant…very smart kitty…all dirty and greasy. She really was very loveable from the second I held her and all too soon she had me wrapped around her little paw at the very moment I heard her purring. Well that was over 5 years ago and as Elizabeth of Needlepoint Now fame says “she is quite a goof!” and she sure is! Never a dull moment with her around. AlleyCat has earned other knicknames by a few of my friends. From very early on she became well known as the brat which fits her “purrfectly.” She is also lovingly known as Miss P which means that she really could stand to shed a few pounds. I think that was the street cat in her.
There are lots of black cats in needlepoint! Today’s blog started off with one of the new hearts from Needle Deeva that I stitched. It was a fun quick stitch. “Fraidy Cat” is the black cat that is part of the Creepy Characters stitched by Robin King that are soon coming to your favorite needlepoint shop!
One of my favorite pictures of her! The kids love these boxes so much that there is one for AlleyCat and another for Sylvester…
a canvas by Maggie that is just waiting ooh so patiently for me to start it! Soon I hope!
There is this great new canvas by Maggie that I love! I still not have added this one to my stash yet…but very soon!
Cat’s Night Out by Sharon G! This canvas is meowing out to me to start stitching on it again. This weekend I promise! or maybe tonight as I enjoy life with that black cat. I can not ever envision my life without a cat or two around. and until next time…keep on stitching
You have to get the Maggie canvas. Alley Cat does that pose beautifully.
yes she does the pose “purrfectly!” as they both could stand to drop a few pounds…
I’m running off right now to let my Pooh Bear know about Black Cat Day! Of course, every day is already Black cat Day as far as he is concerned! AlleyCat is a lovely gal, one of the prettiest black cats I’ve ever seen & I’m pretty biased!
ooh I love the pictures of “Pooh Bear!’ and he is so very handsome!
What a coincidence Vicky, just came to your site to post a picture that made me think of Alley Cat and voila, there she is, main focus of today’s “news”. When I saw this picture my first thought was Alley Cat, I have to share this with Vicky. Ada posted it on Stitcherie in one of the discussions and she calls it “Santa Baby” kitty. I could not resist to show it to you
