Meet Some More of My Favorite Threads!

One of Rainbow Gallery’s newer threads Petite Silk Lame’ Braid must be quite the hit! Just 2 months away from the winter market, they have introduced 7 more colors. Let’s see we have Green, Lite Surf Blue, Antique Blue, Dark Avocado, Dove Gray, Wine and Antique Rose. How do they come up with all of these wonderful colors? and most important of all, how do they come up with these names? One of these days I need to visit Sally and John again at Rainbow Gallery and ask all of these questions that just need answering. Inquiring minds need to know!

I really do love stitching with the Petite Silk Lame’ Braid. Even though there are numerous colors of Kreinik for our stitching pleasure, there are just some colors that just don’t exist in Kreinik. It is thin enough that I am thinking that you could stitch with it blended with a strand or two of silk or floss. I will have to give that a try one of these days!

As I continue to stitch on the Fab Firs, the assortment of colors of the Petite Silk Lame’ Braid stays close at hand as I search for the perfect colors to work into my stitches. I really need to straighten up my stitching area since there are threads and books and stuff all over the place.

Somebody commented on Facebook that they didn’t find any time for stitching yesterday. Well neither did I as I kept busy with a little housework…ooh shudder the thought! Drawing a few stitches for a stitch guide and starting my work on the July/August issue of Needlepoint Now. Elizabeth is busy at her Mac now as she works on the final edits getting the May/June issue ready for it’s deadline for the printers. Trust me, I am just as anxious as you are to see the newest issue, to see her magic of putting the issue all together from these basic Word documents and files of stitches that I send her. With the touch of her magnificent photography and the colorful ads with amazing color and ideas make it such a delight to read!

I did go to the baseball game last night even with the threat of rain in the forecast. What the hey? it is not supposed to rain in Southern California! Isn’t that what the song says? It was a great game, even though my team didn’t win. I feel that it is going to be a long tough season again…but it is really early in the season and too soon to give up hope. After all aren’t the almighty Yankees and Red Sox not off to such a great start either? I think that I need to read the new book out by John Grisham  entitled “Calico Joe” that takes place around Wrigley Field.

Today is more work at the Mac, followed by a night of stitching. Are you stitching tonight? Here is the evidence that “that vacuum cleaner” came out of hiding yesterday! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. poor Sylvester, he does look frightened. Is Alley Cat affraid too? I have a dog whi is the only one that “faces” the vaccum and goes on a pseudo-attack mode
I haven’t found Pettite Silk Lame yet; have to ask. Hope it is as good to stitch with as the “parents”

    • yes she is afraid too, but not as much as he is! It is worse now ever since he broke the table top. No Petite Silk Lame Braid in the magic place with the green walls?
