Till Santa arrives! I love Christmas time, always did and always will. It is such a wonderful time of the year and I take it all in. The decorating, the Christmas Carols, baking cookies, planning Christmas Eve & Christmas dinner with my sister & her husband, the shopping, the parties, wrapping gifts, sending cards, putting up my Christmas trees…yes did I say trees? well I have 4 of them this year!
As I was finishing up my decorating yesterday, I had a few Kodak moments as I was moving things around and making a litte Kelly Clark Christmas display. I love Kelly’s Santas and all the amazing details she adds in each and every one of them. I stitched the Baking Santa to represent my many years of working as a chef and for my love of baking. The Wine Country Santa is a memory of my trip to San Francisco and the wine country last year.
Since I am on a little much needed stitching break from what I have to stitch, I started some of my wrapping yesterday. Yes I am a little early, but since most of my gifts need to be shipped, I never like to wait till the last minute. Don’t hate me if I tell you that my shopping is pretty much done.
Of course AlleyCat decided that of all the places that she could park herself, that at this moment it needed to be right where I was working! I was able to easily distract her as I convinced her that sitting in this box was a much better idea. Sylvester is starting to show his age as he was sound asleep in the deepest regions of the bedroom while all this was going on. After all the elder statesmen just turned 15.
Today my plans are to stay in and stitch and wrap and stitch some more. I am going to work on an ornament or two for next year Christmas Tree. I rented a few movies and will enjoy the day in with the cats and my needle and thread. This is one of my 4 Christmas Trees, a beautiful ficus that the Deeva gave me when she moved back to Denver. It lives outside and has been festively decorated, California style. and until next time…keep on stitching
Greg and I cannot believe that we didn’t kill this guy while living in San Diego – at one point last spring it had only 2 leaves on it! Evidently you have a special hand for this guy, and that makes me very happy – thank you VIcky for giving him such a good home! See guys – she is a multi talented woman… her orchid collection is beautiful!
Thanks Deeva!
