Over the last few years, I have really grown to love Halloween! Now I wouldn’t consider myself over the top in love with Halloween…but any holiday that has lots of black cats associated with it, what’s not to like? In the stitching world, Halloween is just right around the corner, so I thought that I would start working on this now, you know to sort of get into the spirit of things.
This is a new canvas that will soon be debuted by Ruth Schmuff or I am sure as soon as I get it designed, stitched and a stitch guide written. Okay not like the pressure is on? This clever design is from Ada of Eye Candy and the canvas is called Witchy-poo! Now is this a he or a she? I am leaning towards the latter as I am thinking that no he is going to be called Witchy-poo.
I am sure that you are thinking, what is she out of her mind or what? well yes I am! don’t you have plenty of other canvases that you are working one? and yes I do, but it’s a cat and it’s from Ruth, what more can I say?
The canvas has been taped, put on bars and of course my “pumpkin magnet” is ready for duty. I have selected some threads from my stash here in the house and Ruth has sent me a little care package of a few more that I asked for. Now I want to bead the candy corn in the corners and I was auditioning some of my colors yesterday, but of the several colors of orange beads that I tried…well they just aren’t the ones that make my heart sing.
I will spend time today “purrfecting” the colors for Witchy-poo, a little stitching, a little baseball and a little reading. This is one of the books that I want to start today and I am sure that it will be a quick read. I just love Maru…and don’t worry I won’t tell Sylvester & AlleyCat about him.
This is the last Sunday of summer, can you believe it? where has the time gone? and until next time…keep on stitching
I don’t believe your first thought when you looked at Witchy-poo was “Look Alley Cat, it is you!!” At least it was mine 🙂
One more to add to my “wish I could stitch my life away” project list. Can’t wait to see what you do to this
This is a very fetching design! I love that cat – can’t wait to see what she looks like next Sunday…
well I don’t know if I will get that much dome by next Sunday!
Vicky, can I say how good it must be to be you? Getting to be the first person EVER to stitch some of these gems must be wonderful. No preconceived notions to work against. No how-do-i-make-this-different-from-Miss-So-and-So’s-version. So, lucky, lucky you. I’m turning green with envy. 🙂
yes and no K.B. The pressure is on first and foremost all with time as there is no slacking for me, no stitching on what I really want to stitch! The enthusiasm that everyone shares with me, does indeed motivate me to stitch faster. What if you don’t like it? what if Ruth doesn’t approve? what if the threads and my ideas don’t work? but it is thriliing to be the first!
Vicky, I’m having a hard time envisioning Ruth not approving of something you stitched. But bizarre situations do occur in this world, so I suppose it is possible. Not probable though.
K.B. you are wonderful! thank you
Love this canvas. Love the Halloween magnet. Cannot wait to see what you come up with.
thanks Missy! I can’t wait to see what I come up with either?!
