Sayonara…

well just for a while… as much as I would absolutely love to lose myself in this canvas and just while away the hours stitching, I have to put it away for now. Even though I was given the most amazing ideas, wonderful stitches and found beautiful threads from Kreinik 002J to Soie d’Alger to Gloriana Silk Floss & Florimell to Needlepoint Inc Silk to Mandarin Floss to yet a little more Kreinik. Though my fingers are itching to work on it, I have to discipline myself and say no, not now!

Lets see ahead of working on this canvas are just too many other deadlines and where did all this stitching come from all of a sudden? There is Deco Kitty, then the remaining hearts of the 13 Halloween ones from Needle Deeva with only 3 left to go…and wait there’s more! new stitching for 2 different shops that I need to get busy with. That is my night time work and then to while away the daylight hours are the wonderful new projects that Elizabeth has selected for the November/December issue of Needlepoint Now.

This is a closer shot of the background stitch that Tony designed just for me! I placed a sheet of paper behind it so that you can see it better. I am going to conquer this thing of learning to take a straight picture sooner or later.

I stitched all weekend on Deco Kitty while spending lots of time with the feline children. The canvases left from what I had brought to San Antonio have been inventoried and sent back to their homes, suitcases are all unpacked and things put away along with my stash enhancement of threads and a few new books. Most of yesterday was spent taking care of lots of running around, you know the bank, post office, groceries and all that necessary stuff.

In case you are wondering, when will you see the winning pieces along with their ribbons? Well I will tell you! The purses are home here with me but Santa riding the Panda is currently winging his way home now via UPS along with the ribbons. So I will need for the box to arrive. I am sure I will track it as Mr. UPS has a tendency not to ring my bell or knock on the door and I don’t want to miss him! …and also some of the stitched ribbon centers need to be restitched, one being mine for Wearable Art as the elements in the air caused them to show signs of rusting.

I think that I brought some of the Texas heat home with me as it has been way too hot and humid! No, now not that hot, but hot enough! Even the cats seem to have melted into the carpets. I will be staying in and keep cool along with AlleyCat. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Love the background Vicky. It’s a beautiful canvas and I cant wait to see your progress. Also looking forward to deco kitty – signed for it 🙂

  2. I wish I could Vicky but will take the long-distance class. Can’t wait to start.
Those pictures of the children are so lovely, it always brings a smile to my face. One day, seriously, I will have to go to CA and meet them in person 🙂 And, of course, you, but chances are we may meet earlier somewhere else, especially if you come to the NE soon. There’s that magic shop with green walls……..
