Stepping Out… Needle Deeva style!

When Robin, of course you know Robin King! The stitcher extraordinaire of the Creepy Characters, the webmaster of the Needle Deeva website, the writer of Amy Bunger’s newsletter and so much more. When she asked me if I had a picture of the purses with their ribbons, I realized that I never did share that with you. See after the I can’t believe I did that moment of using the exact same picture not once but twice in the same week, I now tag my pictures in iPhoto. This picture of the purses had not yet been tagged.

Thanks to the magic of Robin and Photo Shop, I am now pleased to showcase my purses with their ribbons! The fish purse was the winner of a honorable mention at the exhibit at the ANG seminar in San Antonio. The triangle purse and absolutely one of my most favorite canvases that I have ever stitched, was the winner of a 3rd place ribbon and also the special award of Wearable Art. That’s the ribbon in the light blue color, and that is the one that needed a little TLC from Photo Shop. There was some reaction that caused the ribbon base to rust and come through on the beautifully stitched center. A replacement ribbon is being restitched and is on the way.

Now if you just have to stitch one of these purses yourself, I am sure that Needle Deeva would be thrilled to send the canvas and stitch guide to your favorite needlepoint shop for your stitching pleasure!

It has been extrmely noisy around my house lately, my house that is normally so peacefully quiet has not been at all! Am I showing a sign of my age that that noise gets to me? or maybe I am just so spoiled with the normal peace and quiet, that I really notice when it is not. My neighbors are doing a total remodel of their place and the guys do work way too late and start way too early in the morning! do they not know I have stitch guides to work on? charting to do for the magazine? stitching on Deco Kitty? on top of it all there was a large flock of blackbirds outside in one of the trees that were just talking up a storm!

They were carrying on quite the conversation with Sylvester and AlleyCat. I wonder what they were saying to each other? and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Vicky – I love the shot of the kitty tushies – are those two a riot or what – that many of the enemy in their tree? Must have been like Meade at Antietam – they just keep coming.
You did such a wonderful job on those bags – they are beautifully stitched and finished, of course they won big!

  2. First of all, congratulation; needless to say, well deserved.

The duo’s picture is priceless. I cabn’t tell them apart from their back but is the one on the left (with the chin up) AC? If there were a theme song to go with that picture I think it would be “I believe I can fly”

    • Thanks Palma! no atcually Sylvester is on the left. He is a bigger cat than AC, but she is thicker than he is. They tell me that cats that are homelss for awhile, hence her name…tend to eat as they think this will be their last meal. More of AC to love!
