Stitching on Deco Kitty!

No the mess of threads, beads & Kreinik from yesterday has not been separated, organized, sorted and into their respective living quarters yet. I will get to that sooner or later as that is either an early morning job or later at night when I just can’t take one more stitch. Yesterday was my weekly respite of breakfast at The Cottage, a trip through the blooms and orchids at Adeliade’s and some time in Warwicks browsing through the greeting cards and books. I can while away plenty of time looking at cards, searching for just the “purrfect” one for a special person in my life. Then the books, aah the books. Yes I know the in way is to read a book on your kindle or other e-reader, but for me there is nothing like holding a book and looking at all the pictures. “I am Maru” the feline…well what else?…internet sensation came home with me. Well not the cat, but his book. I love Maru and he is quite entertaining. Shh please don’t tell AlleyCat and Sylvester that please.

A quick stop at Trader Joe’s for a few things…and so sorry for you out there who have no Trader Joe’s in your neighborhood! AlleyCat still would rather curl up on the bag rather than in the the bag!

I came home to finish working on a few more stitches on Illustrator for the magazine. One is a Jessica…now I have never even stitched a Jessica on my canvas, let alone on the computer! It was quite challenging and I might need a little help from Elizabeth to finish it up. I am finished with what she has sent me for now. My stress level is diminishing as my work levels wanes just a little bit.

All too quickly it was that bewitching hour! What time would that be?  Time for a little baseball and a little stitching of course. I need to work on the last two areas of Deco Kitty to make sure that the threads and stitches that I selected are right on the money. The girls at BeStitched need to get the threads ordered for the class and at times these hand dyed overdyed threads take a little extra time getting in. I have been struggling with the column that Deco Kitty sits on and I have tried more than one stitch combination now. I do like what you see here, well most of it as I am not sure about the top of it.

Today is a stitching day as I stay in and start a new project…check in tomorrow to see what that is! Sylvester is keeping me company. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. My Granddaughter and I had a conversation about Deco Kitty last night and how much we are enjoying watching him come to life. We had just been to a Friday Night Fling at Queen Annes and stitching on a Rebecca Wood Feb Door. Deco Kitty and the colors and the stitches became a big conversation on the way home. We are beoming quite fond of this little feline.

  2. Deco Kitty is looking divine! So jealous of your Friday adventure — love Warwick’s (could spend forever in there and I am with you that nothing beats a book, a real live book!); and, of course, The Cottage. Drooling just remembering great breakfasts there. Have not ventured into Adelaide’s yet, but perhaps in January on vacation… Happy Saturday stitching, Vicky. Can’t wait to see the new project.

  3. Looks like Sylvester is helping you pick a stitch – he should know as there’s black cat in the canvas and he may think it is him 🙂
