To Market…To Market we Go!

to buy! buy! buy! It is almost time for the Summer Needleworks Market. I will just give you a little rundown of what my week will be like.

My flight leaves at 0dark30 Thursday morning so that I am there for set up day. The convention center is located across the street from North Market, an indoor farmers market combined with eclectic shopping, food vendors of all types and who could pass up Jenni’s Ice Cream? The best ice cream ever! How does one not become a big kid at the sight of an ice cream cone?

Then there’s the restaurants and the shopping as you ramble down High Street into Short North. Such as Martini’s…need I say more? and LemonGrass an Asian Fusion spot and there is so much more. But I am here to work, not just for the food!

Friday is setup day and in between that all, this is my first class in the afternoon called “Boo Kitty.” Canvas by Melissa Shirley and taught by June McKnight. I understand that Melissa designed this canvas especially for June to work purr~fectly with her Halloween stitch book!

Friday Night is Sample~It Night and I have my shopping list ready! Again thank you to Elizabeth of Needlepoint Now fame for sharing this picture with us. These NeedleDeeva hearts will be in the July/August Issue of Needlepoint Now and will be sold during this hour of fast and furious shopping. If you are not coming to market, just call Deeva and place an order!

The Fab Firs will make their debut in Booth #803. We are front and center when you walk in the entrance, so please stop by for a look see! This is NeedleDeeva’s new retailers club that will be starting in a few short months.

This is my other class on Sunday morning. Polar Bear Snow Globe, canvas by Kirk & Hamilton. Is this not the cutest? This took home a ribbon from the Woodlawn Plantation Needlework Exhibit this year. If you just have to have any of these canvases, I am sure that your favorite shop would love to order any of them for you!

Monday Night is my class at What’s the Point? where I will be teaching a few of the Fab Firs. If you need any more info, would like to be in class or want to order one, please give them a call at 614-717-9008

Did I mention all the enjoyable evenings dining out with the gang? And the best part, chilling with my roomie and gabbing into the wee hours of the morning like 2 little school girls! Oh I have missed her so much and there is much to catch up on. All too soon it is time to come home and to the feline children…then I have a class on Thursday with Terry Dryden taking her Color Kaleidoscope, a new interpretation of a 12 point color wheel. What am I thinking, 3 classes in a week? am I out of my mind? oh well life is too short to let these slip by!

Today is a fun day as I need to get some laundry done and a few things around the house. I need to leave things clean for Sylvester & AlleyCat. Not to worry, they have a nanny that takes care of them while I am gone. They really do love each other, so I never worry when I leave for an extended amount of time. And I will be on the road allot over the summer.

AlleyCat was sunning herself as the sun came streaming in. I can usually find her in this spot every day at this time. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
