Well yesterday actually, but I figure better late than never! Mooch never fails to just make my day and even though this strip was from 10 years ago, he reminded us that yesterday was National Watermelon Day. Now how could I have missed that?
I absolutely love watermelon and have ever since I was a kid. I can easily eat a large, did I say really large? piece for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are only about 300 different kinds of watermelon in the US & Mexico. Me, I will just take mine red and sweet!
You can find red, pink, white and yellow in various shapes and sizes. I have enjoyed watermelon grilled, in savory salads and with lime and cayenne pepper splashed on it. Did you enjoy some watermelon yesterday?
This got me thinking of all the wonderful needlepoint canvases of watermelon that are out there. Just a small sampling…
This is a Charlie Harper canvas. The raccoons sure seem to be enjoying their slice!
This is one of those wonderful little bags by Linda Lahm of What’s the Point? This is reminding me that it is time to get my finishing turned into my LNS for this years addition to the Christmas trees!
This is a Ruth Schmuff canvas. Wouldn’t this make a great cover for a Kindle or an e~reader?
How about this John Johannsen for Melissa Shirley Designs? Wow what a beautiful canvas!
I am enjoying some early morning tennis at Wimbledon this morning! How about you? I have been getting allot of late night stitching in lately, and I admit that I have foregone more than a few baseball games to watch these Olympics.
Today will be some stash enhancement shopping in between a get together with our local ANG chapter as we ready for our stitch~in next Saturday. Dinner later with some friends…how will get any stitching in today? oh well a break once in awhile is always a good thing.
Sylvester looks like he is ready to go with me today! I walked by the bag and happen to notice a little black tail sticking out of the bag and look who I found? and until next time…keep on stitching
Sylvester is just answering the call of the wild 🙂 That bag is perfect for him
Palma as always you are too funny!
