While I wasn’t looking, I believe that spring is poking it’s head out! Yes I know that for some of you, winter just showed up with measurable amounts of snow. For others, my thoughts and prayers go out for the towns and cities touched by this weeks tornadoes. Hey girl, this one’s for you Meredith.
These ground flowers, which I came across yesterday on my walk, seems like that they just blossomed overnight. Where were they the other day? Where did you come from all of a sudden? Maybe it was all that rain that we got the other day. Well anyway I am thrilled to see them as they are a harbinger of warmer days, longer nights and yes, my favorite time of the year…
Baseball! yes I watched the first spring training game yesterday… yes I know it is only spring training and the games don’t mean a thing, but still it is baseball! I do my best stitching to the crack of the bat and the melodic voices of the play by play guys and the color commentator. It is a time to learn the players names and try to keep up with all the trades and who is playing for which team. Like I said I do my best stitching with a game on!
So I am such a happy camper as there will be 3 games on today…so you know what I will be doing. Stitching! I am working on Kelly Clark’s Crazy Quilt as I finish up the last of the 22 sections. I have been doing a fair amount of restitching in these last few areas, not because anything is wrong with the instructions…it is just me as either my stitching wasn’t very good or I just wanted to tweak something. Just 2 more sections to finish up and then the basket for the daffodils and I will be ready! So maybe I will have time to work on some of the trees today too.
Even AlleyCat knows that spring is here! She is spending allot of time on the balcony watching the birdies. There is this little cutout at the base of balcony and she like to peak through and chatters to the birds as they fly about.
They really got her attention here! I know she dreams that she will catch one, but AlleyCat they are just a little too fast for you. Now Felix, well that was a different story. and until next time…keep on stitching
Hi Vicky,
We live in Florida and attended our first spring training game of the season! Love the smells of all the ballgame franks and cracker jacks, there was a woman sitted next to us who brought along her crocheting and made excellent progress on her afghan. I was quite jealous that I didn’t think to bring my needlepoint, although if anyone spilled their beer on my canvas I’d be in big trouble!
Ooh one of these years I want to go to spring training! I would never bring my stitching to the game as I am there to watch the game!
I love those little straw flowers – suddenly, I miss that hill we lived on in San Diego – just remembered what it looked like with all of the February bloomies… but it will be 64 in Denver today….Thanks Vicky – Andrew bought a new golf bag for his adventure to spring training in Phoenix next week. Spring is coming!
Spring is here!
