Musings From Market!

Where has the time gone? I have been here since Thursday afternoon and it is already very early Monday morning…and I mean very early and I am just turning my Mac on for the first time! In a few short hours market will wind down and it will be time for breakdown and saying our goodbyes. For some of us, this will be the last market of the year.

These canvases are some of Raymond’s newest designs. I just love them and I could easily stitch just about everyone of them! Which one is your favorite? I don’t think that I can decide. I snapped this picture during early morning setup as I needed to pick up the canvases from Raymond for classes. Back to the hotel to get the kits together.

Getting the threads ready for classes! Thank you again to our thread donors…Kreinik, Planet Earth Fiber, Crescent Colours, Rainbow Gallery and Sundance Designs.

Ready to go! Time to head back over to the convention center to find out where the class is, where is the booth for Needlepoint Now and see what everyone else is doing…

Found the class locations!

Tony Minieri, Suzanne Howren and Beth Robertson are busy helping Meredith set up the Elizabeth Turner Collection booth…okay but where is Meredith? They had all been here in Columbus as it was time to come up with amazing ideas for our classes at the Fab Four Class at A Stitch in Time in a few months. I can’t wait! Why so far ahead you say? well first I am sure that they had to work it into their busy schedules and also this will give Alison time to order our threads and beads!

This is the registration area where everyone checks in for show badges, show books and all sorts of information.

Needlepoint Now booth is set up and the magazines and everything are safely tucked under the table. Nothing much to show you now as it is just the table and banner. More later!

Classroom is setup and now I have lots of time to head over to North Market and then some sneak peaks at the new canvases!

I was trying to decide on what to have for lunch and just couldn’t get pass up Jeni’s…life is short, eat dessert first! Isn’t that what they say? So I did! Salty caramel mixed with whiskey pecan. OMG! and that was all I needed for lunch.

Two new amazing designs from Sandra Gilmore of Once in a Blue Moon…and no I didn’t order either one of these!

The very anxious shoppers waiting for Sample It to open! open! open! I was able to do some stash enhancement shopping.

Well it is time to get ready to head to the show floor. I like to head in the doors early as you can really look in the peace and quiet. I have lots more pictures yet to share with you. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Thanks so much for sharing. It takes us with you when you go on these adventures. Love the Raymond Crawford ornament canvases can’t wait to stitch some. Also love the Halloween canvas you are teaching. Liz and I are working on getting a class together so you can teach it here.
