Play Ball!

The best two words…Play ball! as the baseball season opens. Today should be a national holiday so everyone that wants to can go to opening day! My San Diego Padres opens on the road today, but will be back home to play on Thursday and I can’t wait. I am like a little kid at Christmas waiting, waiting and waiting. Between all the new players that we have and all the upgrades that they did to the ballpark…it should be a very exciting season.

Today’s blog  is short and sweet as I have an early morning breakfast meeting. I hope everyone had a very happy Easter and Passover!

I did as I stitched lots and puttered around with my orchids and plants. Of course someone needed to get right in the middle of it all. I would expect nothing less from her!

and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Does AlleyCat or Sylvester nibble at your plants? You seem to have orchids and plants all over the place! I have to confine plants to the area behind the kitchen sink and orchids to my bathroom window ledge. Those are the only two places with sufficient sunlight and yet are inaccessible to my inquisitive nibbling Sienna. Yay, baseball! The Giants are on the road too, in Arizona.

    • they really never ever bother the orchids…maybe a nibble here or there on others. I have bought kitty grass, even grown in for them and they don’t touch it!

      • I used to grow oat grass for my first kitty. She loved it, but haven’t tried for Sienna. I should….maybe she’ll enjoy it, since she loves plants if she can get her teeth on them. She even chews off the green tops of onions if they’ve begun sprouting, and then gets sick. I can’t leave anything within a feline reach of her. Laughingly, the kitchen sink is a natural barrier….she won’t cross to the other side even though there is room for her to walk on the bit of countertop in front of it.

  2. I’m with you. I love opening day. The possibilities, the dreams, and hopes My team had a great opening day. We played home run derby in Philly. Good luck to your team!
