We’re Having a Party!!!

Yes we are! and it’s not a bead party either…well what’s the party all about? In case you haven’t noticed, mostlyneedlepoint.com 2nd blogoversary came and went! Do you think I forgot all about it? Of course I didn’t and its never too late to have a party. And you get the presents! First we have…

Thank you to Sundance Designs for giving me their new Roll~N~Go Bead tray. It is cleverly made from beading mat material, a little bling added on the corners and a cleverly sewn in ribbon that ties it all together. Place your beads on the mat and bead away. Do you know that the best way to pick up the leftover beads from the mat and get them back in the tube? You just use the cover from the beading tube and slide it along, pour the beads back into the tube and repeat until all the beads are picked up. Or if you still have some more beading to do and don’t want to put your beads away, just roll it up and tie it with the ribbon! Too clever. I must add that this really works best if you work at a table rather than at your stand. I just need to keep the cats from walking through my pile of my beads!

Beads are not included and there is one for the lucky winner and the other one is for me!

The next gift I have for you is an exclusive magnet made for Kirk & Hamilton Designs to co~ordinate with that darling Polar Bear Canvas of theirs. The magnet is not even on the market yet and will only be available from 1 shop! Thanks to Jeremy of Kirk and Hamilton for giving me the magnet…which I promptly lost and then to Needlepoint Now who came to the rescue and quickly replaced it for us. Long story.

How about a Bead Buddie? Meredith is sending me some more…so you would get a brand new one! No beads included…

How about a set of Oli Clips? These are magnetic and slip onto the edge of your canvas!

Last but not least is this project bag from Access Commodities which is great to hold your extra beads, needles or whatever for your project. Along with a needle ID card and a pad of sticky notes.

I want to thank everybody who reads my blog, and those who read faithfully everyday, those who comment and especially those who mention when I don’t include pictures of Sylvester and AlleyCat! Originally when I started the blog, I was going to occasionally add a picture of them, but after so many of you would ask “where are the cats today?” well the rest is history! I love it when someone mentions “hey I read your blog everyday!” and I thank you. AlleyCat and Sylvester thank you too.

So these 5 presents are for you…leave me a comment to be entered in the giveaway and if you really want one thing or the other over another mention that too. I will use some sort of random generator to select the winners. The Bead~N~Go tray, the Polar Bear Magnet, the OliClips, Bead Buddie or the project bag is what you have to choose from. Sorry AlleyCat is not included in the giveaways! I will leave this open until next Wednesday March 6th and announce the winners on Friday March 8th.

Speaking of having a party…AlleyCat is having way too much fun. I was going through my stretcher bars when she got ahold of one and was having her own party. She never ceases to amaze me and entertain me! and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. What do you mean AlleyCat isn’t included in the giveaway?!

Durn. Watson wants someone to play with BAD. I guess he’ll settle for the polar bear magnet (so cute and it’s in NP Now next time!).

Oh, well, it is enough to wish you a happy birthday and many more happy years of blogging. I read and savor each and every one.

  2. I look forward to your blog and all the new things you show us. It keeps me up to date on the market . Alley cat’s antics are always fun. I love today’s picture playing with a stick. If I win, I like the bead tray from Sundance or the polar bear magnet.

  3. I love your blog & your kitties. I would love to win any of the prizes that you are giving away. Happy Anniversary – & many, many more.

  4. Happy Anniversary! Love, love, love your blog! Thank you!

What fun we had with Meredith at Blue Bonnet! The bead buddies are awesome!

    See you in Anaheim!!!

  5. Hi Vicky, Thanks for featuring Sundance’s “Roll and Go” in your blog! Have a great day and I hope to see you soon. Cassie

  6. I really love the blog, and am always glad to read it when you post it. It has been such an inspiration! That, and the fact I can see the antics of your cats!

  7. I love the photo of AlleyCat having a party! She always entertains! I would like to win anything but am really partial to the magnet! My morning always starts with my cuppa and your blog! Great start!

  8. Happy Blog-o-versary, Vicky! I don’t comment very often but am a faithful reader. I really appreciate all the photos and hints you include in your posts.
P.S. The picture of AlleyCat is cracking me up. My cat, Devin, will do the same thing with random things he finds on the floor. I call it his rabbit pose. 😉

  9. I love your blog. I found it last summer and now look for it every day. Your cats crack me up! I always wonder why they don’t jump over the rail? Your needlepoint is incredible. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

  10. Thanks so much for hosting a give-away. Love reading your blog! I love that bead tray and that polar bear magnet is a must have in my house!

  11. I enjoy reading your blog every day and finding out what the kitties are up to and of course your needlepoint ideas. I am crazy about needlepoint, embroidery and quilting. I too have a cat and she is my furry child also. Keep up the good work that you do in promoting the wonderful art of needlepoint.

  12. I am so happy you started a blog because i read it daily. What could be better than reading about needlepoint and cats? You have encouraged me to start going to workshops and expanding my knowledge of stitches. Since retiring from teaching last may I’ve been able to attend classes and include needlepoint shops as a reason to visit new places. Alley Cat and Sylvester are among my favorite felines, after my three and I love hearing about their days.

  13. I read your blog everyday and love it! You always have the newest threads, canvases, gadgets, etc. for us. And the cats are a bonus too as I have BIG dogs but can’t have kitties, they are viewed as prey in this house. Happy blogaversary! Lynn

  14. Just wanted to say that I am always up for a party!
All the accessories are great, any would be fine.
    Love reading all your posts.

  15. Love the picture with the stretcher bar… that is one game my kitties have not yet discovered. Love the blog — happy anniversary! And I love the bead tray. Hope to see one at my LNS soon.

    • Thank you Allana! She really surprised when she grabbed ahold of it and was having her own party. I too hope that your LNS will order that bead tray. I am thinking that Sundance is busy making more right now as they sold out at Sample It! Thanks again

  16. Happy blogoversary! I read your blog daily and frequently pin stitches and canvases from your blog on my pinterest board. I most recently pinned that awesome background stitch you did on “Keep Calm and Needlepoint”–love it! I’d love to have any of the fun items you listed (although I do have a lot of oli magnets, so maybe not those!). Thanks for inspiring us daily! Oh, and yes, your cats crack me up!!

  17. Hi Vicky! Happy anniversary and lucky us that you’re blogging. Your blog is de rigeur reading every day. I have to check for it, and reread your old blogs even when you don’t have time to post.
Thanks for all the work you put into this. I adore all of the prizes and would be tickled to win any of them (and would take Alley Cat or Sylvester, too!).
    (((Hugs!!!)))

  18. Vicky, I love everything about your blog… Except when you aren’t posting. I have learned new tips and spent more money on things I have seen here. I wish you and all of us readers, many more years with your blog. All of the goodies are wonderful!

  19. Oh, I’m like everyone else, love the stitching and the kitties! You are such an inspiration, I’d love to be a “stitching goddess”. I’m in training. I’d love the polar bear magnet he’s such a beauty. Then I’d have to buy the snowglobe canvas to go with him! Ah Ha! a reason to buy a canvas! Like any of us need one. Happy Birthday, Blogaversary!

  20. Happy Blogoversary! I love your blog and like the fact that it is at the bottom of the list I read. I always end with a great blog! Watching the Giants now for the first time this season. Need some more stuff for watching games and needlepointing.

  21. Vicky,

Congratulations on your second blogoversary! I, too, read your blog every day. (Has it really only been two years?) It is a learning experience for me as I mostly do charted canvas. I do love seeing the amazing things you do with all those painted canvases! I also get a kick out of the kitties–I had a black Manx once, named Nemesis, so I know how hard it is to get a decent picture of a black cat! I’d love to be in the give-away for anything but the roll up beading tray and the needle buddy. Everything else is already on my wish list!

  22. I love reading your blog, Vicky, and I also look forward to it every day. It’s always a treat to see what’s new in the stitching world, or to peek over your shoulder as you’re creating a new stitch guide, or to come along to a class with a famous teacher and listen in on the tips you learn from them.

If my name is picked, I would especially love the Bead~N~Go tray or the Bead Buddie, but all of these items are wonderful treats.

    Give the kitties a hug!

  23. Happy Anniversary, you have become an inspiration to me. In fact I am going to try my first canvas that calls for beads to be incorporated into the design. I have both dogs and cats and love the antics of your two furry children.

  24. Don’t get here very often, but you always have such interesting things going on. If Alley Cat came to visit, it would add to the menagerie of Holocaust Holly, Darth Vader, and Sayde…..what a crew! Congrats on your anniversary.

  25. I too am a regular reader of your blog, love to see your stitching ideas and progress on your projects. I am always disappointed on days that you don’t post.
Your gifts are all great but I’m hoping to win the magnetic clips.
    Thanks,
    Elaine

  26. I would enjoy winning any of the prizes but it would be the most fun to win Meredith’s beading case. I live just around the corner from M’s Canvashouse and would find it neat to show Meredith that I won her prize online!! I too so enjoy your blog and read it daily.

  27. Congrats on two years. I read you everyday through Google Reader – I think I must have been one of the first to follow! Love the giveaways – but especially that project bag! It looks PERFECT for me to be able to take a project back and forth to work without risking spilling my lunch on it!

  28. Vicky,
You are such an inspiration with a wealth of knowledge, that’s a great combo! We are all so lucky that you’re willing to share. Ally Cat is a hoot with the bars. Happy Anniversary and please keep up the great work.
    Mary Anne

  29. Vicky,

First it was wonderful to meet you in Bastrop, and if I had known you have an snide track on that wonderful bead n’ go, I would have bought your dinner! Seriously, when I first saw the picture (must have been during Long Beach), I was all ver the web trying to find it so I could buy he.

If I don’t win. Can you please give me info on how to get one?

Thanks! Love your posts! So do Buddy and MrWhitekeys (our cats!).

    Joey

    • Thank you so much Joey! and I loved getting to meet you…just wish we had more time to gab! The bead tray is from Sundance designs and I am sure your LNS would love to order some so you can get one!

  30. I love watching your projects develop and reading about your work on articles for NN. As for cat pics, they remind me of cats who’ve claimed me. The world is a cat playtoy!

  31. Good Morning Vicky, Love your blog, must admit I wish it were longer, your info. has helped me with several projects. But as the MomMom(grandmother) of Miko a Seal Point I love seeing the pictures of Alley Cat. Miko is now 11 months old and will now seat with me while I stitch. But if I leave a snap tray out/uncovered he thinks it his toy, LOL. Please keep up the wonderful blogs. Karen

  32. Belated birthday wishes! So enjoy checking in with you each day not only to see your stitching, bit to also see what the kitties are up to. You are a very talented lady and give me a lot of inspiration! Here’s to another year of happy stitching!

  33. After I met you in Philly last ANG, I stop by (almost) every morning 🙂
Isn’t Meredith great and her bead buddy looks wonderful.

  34. What a wonderful blog! Congratulations on your anniversary! Thank you for providing such great information and photos for us. I learn from you.

Great giveaway! I’d love that magnet or the clips (or anything else really). Who doesn’t need more precious tools?? Seriously though, giveaway aside, I really do appreciate being able to share in your knowledge and your stitching. Thanks so much! Great blog!!

  35. Hi Vicky, Hope to see you at A Stitch In Time with Brenda Hart next weekend. Love the blog. Congrats on the anniversary. Susan

  36. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with all of us – I don’t usually comment but have your blog fed to me every time it posts! Happy Anniversary! I would be thrilled with any of your great giveaways – Fun!

  37. I LOVE your blog. You have many things to offer and it is always good to hear what you are doing. Enjoyed meeting you at BB. Happy Birthday to you and your blog.

  38. Happy Anniversary! I too love reading the blog, and seeing the kitties! We lost our best buddy of 13 years in October and miss him a lot, so I enjoy seeing yours! I would love to have the Bead buddies tray, but would be thrilled to win any of your wonderful gifts! Happy Stitching too!

  39. Happy Anniversary Vicky! I discovered your blog about a year ago, and I’ve really enjoyed reading it. I’ll trade you Cupcake, a 14 year old orange tabby with anger management issues, for Sylvester!

      • Oh yes, I would! We’ve had painters in for the last two days and Cuppy didn’t like it and decided to let me know by peeing on our bed. He’s lucky to still be alive. I’ve spent the afternoon stripping the bed, washing sheets, and taking the duvet and cover to the dry cleaner! He’s a bad, bad, bad kitty!

  40. My mornings always begin with a trip to your blog to see what new and interesting things you are doing. Of course my cats, Oreo and Domino, are always sitting on the desk waiting to catch a glimpse of AlleyCat. I think they look forward to my morning log-in as much as I do! I would love to be a winner in your anniversay give-away. I’m a stitch-a-holic and love it all! Thank you for all the inspiration you provide.

  41. Happy 2nd Blog Anniversary! Congratulations on writing a “must read every day” blog; you do a super job! I love seeing what you are working on and what’s new in the world of needlepoint. And, although I am not a cat person (shudder the thought!), I do love seeing what your babies are doing!
Keep up the great work; my day would not be the same if your blog was not there to read!!

  42. Happy anniversary! I really enjoy visiting your blog on a regular basis. I always learn something new, or get a dose of inspiration. The pictures of your babiest make me smile and bring back memories of my Jasmine.
    and Simba kitties.

How generous of you to offer presents on your Anniversary. They are all really great, and i would apprecite any of them, but the polar bear magnet makes my heart sing

  43. Vicki, congratulations on your second year! If you need extra (broken) stretcher bars to entertain Alley Cat, just let me know. I’ll bring some to Columbus!

    Sandy

  44. Happy Blogoversay, Vicki. I read faithfully – not quite every day, but almost. I must admit to reading it upside-down, though…I check on Alley Cat’s & Sylvester’s “doings” first, then the needlepoint. She’s having fun with that stretcher bar.

  45. Congratulations on your 2nd year of blogging. I read your blog often, but I’m not much of a commenter. You’re hosting a most lovely giveaway – thanks so much for thinking of it! Can’t wait to see who wins those lovely goodies!

Wishing you many more years of happy blogging!

  46. Congrats on your anniversary!! I am a newbie and stumbled across your blog several months ago and I read it all the time.. Just love it.. Very informative and enjoyable!!.. Best wishes for many many more years! I know I look forward to it..

  47. Happy Anniversary! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy days to teach us and show us the wonderful things you work on. I wish we lived closer as we could be great buddies…needlepoint, black cats and baseball! I can’t wait till it starts up for real! I’ve spent many an hour in front of a Braves game with my needlepoint and a kitty next to me. My Augie boy sends his greetings to Sylvester and Alley Cat. And thanks for the opportunity to win some wonderful prizes. Any of them would be super.

  48. It’s only been 2 years of blogging? I guess I read it every time you post so it seems like a lot longer. I really enjoy the blog, needlepoint and cats. Thank you for the presents give away. Polar bear magnet if I’m lucky enough to be number-generated!

  49. Vicky,
Happy Anniversary! I don’t know how you find the time to blog every day! I live in Portland, Or and I love hearing about your adventures at Needlepoint Now. You make needlepoint fun.

    Julie

  50. Hi Vicky! Happy Anniversary! I so enjoy your blog and thank you for sharing your incredible talents, for enabling me and finding lots of neat items I just ‘must’ have and for sharing your life with Alley Cat and Sylvester with us. I ordered a black cat magnet this week and immediately thought of you! I would welcome the chance to win any of your gifts but I don’t do enough beading to warrant the great roll up mat. Have a great week, Wanda

  51. I love looking at your blog everyday. It’s inspiring to see everything you stitch and how creative you are.
    Keep up the great work!

  52. Happy Anniversary – I love your web-site and I too love seeing pictures of AC – so much like my Ebonizer for those who loved her best.

I love the beading mat, been looking for something like that – getting ready to bead on my SpiritDancer as well as the castle on a Painted Pony angel for my granddaughter. So whether or not if I win, I feel like a winner just finding your blog.

    Sandy

  53. First I thought wait a minute its your anniversary! Shouldn’t we be buying you gifts? Oh that’s right she is the stitcher who has everything! Threads, talent, canvas, talent, bling, talent…… Happy Anniversary!

It would have to be a toss up between the polar bear magnet and the Roll n Go bead tray.

  54. I am a little late but Happy Anniversary.
I just love all the info I get on the needlepoint world from people like you.
    Best,
    Marilyn

  55. I have, thus far, been a silent viewer of your wonderful blog. As an avid stitcher who lives in Canada with only one little shop, I regularly seek inspiration online from others who share the wonderful world of needlepoint. And, after two years, I can say that “Mostly Needlepoint” has become a great source of what is fun and fabulous. Plus, your kitties are just tool cute!

Many thanks for sharing, and, as it should be said at every Anniversary, “Here’s to many, many more!”

p.s. I love the project bag and beading accessories.

  56. Hi! I read your blog all the time and wish you a happy blogversary. We had a cat that came to dinner and stayed 16 years. Seeing Sylverster and Alley Cat remind me of her. I really like the bead roll up. Thanks.

  57. Just re-found your blog – lost many of my links when I replaced my old computer! Love the give-aways! Would be happy to have any/all of them!
    Ellen in VA

  58. Vicky,
Congratulations on you two year anniversary! I’ve been reading your blog from when you first started. Just want you to know how much I enjoy reading it and seeing all your great stitching and of course the kitties too! Thanks for stitching your stitching life with us.

  59. Happy Blog Anniversary, Vicki!!!! Wishing you many more years of keeping us up to date with the latest and greatest in the needlepoint world!!!!
    Karen

  60. Oh but AlleyCat looks just like my beloved BlackJack who passed away last year. I had that sweet boy for 19 years. You can imagine the whole in my heart his passing has left me with. I have thoroughly enjoyed your blog and admire you ideas not only for the stitches but the techniqes. When I am in a low spot of my stitching, I will read your blog and get inspired all over again. Heck, I have even started looking at orchids. So if you can part with the polar bear I can provide a good home but of course all the gifts are treasures. Hugs to you and the babies, Brenda

    • Thank you so much Brenda. It is tough when we loose one of our kids as they take a part of our heart with them. I still think I see Felix the Cat who has been gone for 3 years now. Thanks again for your kind words, they mean allot!

  61. Happy Blog-o-versary–and may you have many more! Since Alley Cat is not a prize option, I think I’ll gaze wistfully at the beading trays…

    Kristiane

  62. I just love looking at your blog every day. It gives me such inspiration and countless ideas to use on my own canvases. Happy Blogaversary. Would love either of the gifts that help wth the beading but I am addicted to Magnets too…
Love to AlleyCat and Sylvester. Will they get treats too to help in the celebrating?
Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

    Ronnie

    • Thanks Ronnie! It is funny they know every day around 3 in the afternoon is snack time…well Mom usually has a piece of cheese or something, so why can’t they? Thank you for your words, it means allot.
