It Really is All About the Cats!

I guess you can say that I have a soft spot in my heart for cats. Whether it be the feline residents of the house, cats in needlepoint, cat jewelry, cats on my clothes, cats this, cats that…well I think that you get the idea. One can never have too much cat stuff.

During one of my trips for some stash enhancement at my LNS, Needlepoint of La Jolla, I saw a model of this darling leather case. I instantly if not sooner fell in love with it! Absolutely purr~fect for carrying laying tools, scissors or whatever. They had it cleverly displayed amid several Lee canvas rounds. I quickly spotted the cat faces and I just knew that I just had to stitch this.

A little basketweave, a little Kreinik and some silks all of which I am sure that I would have in my stash at home, what could be better than that? The colors of the leather were just made for this canvas! Michelle, the owner commented, well you will probably have this stitched by tomorrow…and well I did. I guess that I didn’t want to disappoint her.

It is lined in this black and white checkered fabric and also comes with a little bag of the same fabric. Sweet! I was absolutely thrilled the other day when I got the phone call that we all love to hear “your finishing is back!”

Today I am adding the finishing touches on the Needle Deeva Easter Egg House. I am thrilled that I am so close to taking it off the stretcher bars! Time to write the stitch guide and get it off in the mail to the Needlepoint Now studios. That is in between having lunch with the gang and hanging out for a few hours with Susan Portra et al at Newport Needlepoint. It has been way too long since I have seen Susan and Peggy!

Sylvester thought he would keep my spot warm for me while I got for an iced tea refill. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?
