Do You Remember These?

Now if you are new to reading the blog, probably not. But to those that have been around with me for awhile, it seems like it was ages ago when I brought these canvases home from market… I am sure you were wondering if I was ever going to get around to stitching them?

One of the latest designs from the collection of NeedleDeeva canvases. A Thanksgiving Day set, one that evolves from the Mayflower and the Pilgrims and the Indians.

This is the wigwam that the Indians built and lived in way back when…

Why was this the first one that I stitched? wwweellll I have no idea! I just really liked it. So when I say that I have been buried in my stitching, I really have been. This is what has been occupying most of my stitching time. Two of these pieces will be selected to be on the back cover of the November/December issue of Needlepoint Now, so I have been plugging away as I would never ever want to be the one to hold up the presses. Now for me being in the magazine, it doesn’t get much more exciting than that!

I goofed off last night! Yes I could have stayed home and stitched, but I didn’t. See for me most of the time when I am stitching, believe it or not it is really work for me.  Such as this Thanksgiving project for the Deeva. I also have a canvas to start for Peggi of Tapestry Fair…which I am sure that she thinks I have totally forgotten about! Then there are the NeedleDeeva Christmas Cupcakes, and a canvas or two from Kirk & Hamilton that is on the way.

So yes I could have stayed in and stitched the night away, but instead I went to the baseball game. I love my baseball almost as much as my stitching and it was a beautiful night…so why not? My team has been playing some very good ball lately infused with allot of new and young players. The season is pretty much over for us, so why not see what these young kids can do? Great game and we made the Cincinnati Reds absolutely earn that win as we went down 6-5.

Today is breakfast at Wimbledon which will move right into a baseball game or two as I stitch the day away. Which Thanksgiving piece do I want to work on today? What are you stitching these days?

Sylvester is hoping for more time on the blog…as he gives me that pitiful look as he is thinking “why does SHE get all the attention!?” That’s cause AlleyCat is very mischievous and gets into stuff. You are a good kitty and sleep allot these days my old man. Well you are almost 16 you know, but I still love you the same. and until next time…keep on stitching

About Vicky

Needlepoint, morning noon and evening! what could be better than this? I work on the computer in the daylight hours editing stitch guides and drawing stitches that you will see in the next Needlepoint Now for your stitching pleasure! In between this, there is time for taking pictures of my stitching adventures, Facebook and writing stitch guides for canvas that I am stitching for Needle Deeva, Maggie, Ruth Schmuff and others. Mostly needlepoint you ask? well we will talk about my cats Sylvester and AlleyCat, better known as "the brat". Of course I can't forget Felix who was the love of my life for over 14 years. He broke my heart as he departed for the Rainbow Bridge last year. Oh did I mention baseball?

  1. Sylvester is 16? wow. Truth be told he doesn’t look 16. Besides, he’s such a gentlecat, always well dressed in his tuxedo (which I love by the way).

  2. I knew you didn’t forget, just thought you got bogged down with deadlines. I know the feeling – have a “few” self-imposed deadlines myself. I’m still excited to see what you do with Bastet, but will have to wait my turn.

    • soon! I am waiting to get an answer from the Fab Four(Tony, Meredith, Suzanne & Beth) if I can work on that canvas in my 5 day class at seminar next month. They know it is for you… so soon I will start on it! Thank you for your patience!

  3. Fantastic. I was thinking about doing this one in my Tony class in January, but I’ll leave it to you and figure out something else to stitch. With that kind of collaboration yours should be great.
